How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

BMS & OT Systems Engineer - Critical Buildings
    Location: London, Multi-Site
    Salary: £85,000-£90,000
    Job Type: Permanent

    The Role
We are recruiting for an experience BMS & OT Engineer to take technical responsibility for the operation, resilience and performance of Building Management and Control Systems across a portfolio of prestigious critical properties in London.

This is a technically focused role working across a critical, multi-site environment. You will provide hands-on BMS engineering support while working closely with site engineering teams, specialist BMS contractors, IT and network teams and client stakeholders.

The role covers BMS servers, supervisory software, controllers, field networks, integration gateways and connected building systems with a particular focus on maintaining system reliability, performance and operational resilience.

This is not a pure IT or cyber security position. It is a hands-on BMS and controls engineering role with additional responsibility for system resilience, secure accesss and operational technology.

    Key Responsibilities

You will take technical ownership of the BMS estate across multiple sites, providing engineering support, fault diagnosis, system optimisation and technical guidance to operational teams and specialist contractors.

The role will involve commissioning, testing and tuning BMS systems, including control strategies, alarms, trends and system performance.

You will manage BMS lifecycle activities such as software upgrades, controller replacements, server and workstation upgrades and platform migrations.

You will also oversee the technical quality of BMS works delivered by external contractors, reviewing proposals, designs, implementation plans and commissioning documentation.

A key part of the role will be maintaining accurate system documentation, including network diagrams, controller drawings, asset registers, configuration records and system baselines.

You will work alongside IT and network teams to support BMS connectivity, integration and appropriate network segmentation, including systems connected to plant such as chillers, UPS systems, generators, meters and lighting controls.

The role will also involve supporting system backups, recovery processes, secure configuration, user access management and controlled remote access for specialist vendors.

You will ensure appropriate change control is followed for BMS works, including technical review, testing, rollback planning and documentation.

    About You

We are looking for a hands-on BMS Engineer or BMS Systems Engineer with strong experience working on live operational buildings.

You must have demonstrable experience working with Schneider BMS systems. This is an essential requirement for the position.

You should be comfortable diagnosing faults, commissioning systems and optimising BMS performance, rather than simply managing BMS contractors.

Experience working across a multi-site commercial, critical or technically complex environment would be highly advantageous.

You will need strong troubleshooting skills and an organised approach to documentation, configuration management and technical change.

    Essential Experience & Qualifications

    Candidates should have:

    * Proven hands-on BMS / Building Controls engineering experience.

    * Direct experience working with Schneider BMS systems – essential.

    * Experience diagnosing, commissioning and optimising BMS systems.

    * Experience working with BMS servers, supervisory platforms, controllers and databases.

    * Understanding of BMS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC or LonWorks.

    * Experience working within live operational or critical environments.

    * A relevant apprenticeship, HNC/HND, degree or equivalent experience in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation or a related discipline.

Experience with other BMS platforms such as Trend, Siemens, Honeywell or Tridium Niagara would be advantageous.

Knowledge of OT networks, system segmentation, remote connectivity, patch management, backups and system recovery would also be beneficial.

    What's on Offer

    * £85,000-£90,000

    * Opportunity to take technical ownership of BMS systems across three prestigious London properties.

    * Exposure to complex building services, controls and operational technology systems.

    * Professional development and technology training.

    * Opportunity to contribute to engineering and technology strategy across a major commercial property portfolio.

    Apply

If you are an experienced BMS Engineer, BMS Systems Engineer, BMS Controls Engineer or Building Controls Engineer with strong Schneider BMS experience, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV for immediate consideration.
