How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for a well-respected Main Contractor based in Central London. This is an exciting new role due to additional workload with new projects secured and started on site.

    About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Fawkes and Reece are working with a well-respected Main Contractor that have a network of offices both regionally and in Central London. Our client has a proven track record delivering a variety of Construction project within both the public and private sectors across Commercial, Residential, Hotel, Student Accommodations, Education, and health care.

    Being a financially stable business with a steady turnover, our client is selective about the projects they secure which has resulted in Surveyors having successful projects with no legacy issues. Due to their repeat business, and relationships they have a growing turnover more than £650 Million with the platform to maintain this level and keep growing at a steady rate.

    They are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their London Division to help grow their education sector. The role will involve both work winning, pre- and post-delivery supporting the team on Framework enquiries, tenders, negotiated single stage work. With their office being based in the City, you will be work both office and site based and your role will be varied managing tenders from preconstruction to live sites. With the portfolio of work being both London and surrounding Home counties based and a range of values up to circa £60 Million.

    This is a great opportunity to join a business that has good support and structure in place for their employees. Our client is known for investing in their commercial teams with a clear development plan and mentors that promote RICS Charter ship. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, they are looking for someone to promote these values and support the Senior Commercial team and existing junior members.

    Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Working from PCSA/2 Stage tender process, to delivering the site and working through to completion and final accounts
    Procurement across all sub-contracting accounts
    Pricing, and managing change and variations.

    10 Years experience within Construction Quantity Surveying position with a Main Contractor
    Good Communication skills
    Quantity Surveyor degree or working towards
