How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders for EHV, electrical infrastructure and associated civil engineering projects.

The position would suit an ambitious Estimator with a strong background in EHV, HV, utilities, substations, electrical infrastructure and/or civils, who is looking for an opportunity to take ownership of tenders and contribute directly to the company's continued growth.

The role is available on either a permanent or long-term contract basis, with immediate availability preferred.

    * Analyse, adjudicate and incorporate subcontractor and supplier quotations into tender submissions.

    * Work closely with Commercial Managers and operational teams on cost planning, tender strategy and project requirements.

    * Identify commercial risks, exclusions, opportunities and potential cost-saving measures throughout the tender process.

    * Provide recommendations for value engineering and alternative technical or commercial solutions where appropriate.

    * Prepare and submit competitive bids within required deadlines and support tender review meetings.

    * Maintain accurate estimating records and collaborate with project, commercial, engineering and operational teams.

    About You

We're looking for an experienced EHV Estimator who understands the complexities of pricing major electrical infrastructure and/or civil engineering projects.

    Ideally, you will have:

    * Proven Estimating experience within EHV, HV, utilities, power, substations and/or civil engineering.

    * Strong understanding of EHV/HV infrastructure projects and associated construction activities.

    * Experience preparing tenders from drawings, specifications, BoQs and detailed scope documentation.

    * Strong measurement, take-off, pricing and cost-analysis skills.

    * Experience obtaining, analysing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotations.

    * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.

    * Excellent attention to detail, communication and negotiation skills.

    * The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while working to demanding deadlines.

    * A driven, ambitious and commercially focused approach.

    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of EHV and civils work and a high volume of tenders currently being pursued.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take a key role within the estimating function, with genuine scope to contribute to future growth and project wins.

    The company offers:

    * £60,000 – £80,000 salary, depending on experience.
