How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced End User Computing professional who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting business-critical teams and delivering excellent customer service? UK Power Networks is looking for an IS End-user Computing Support Engineer to provide high-quality technical support across the business from our Ipswich office.

In this permanent role, you will deliver deskside and remote IT support for colleagues, senior stakeholders and operational teams. You will resolve incidents and service requests, support laptops, desktops, mobile and field devices, printers, meeting room technology, Teams, Outlook, Exchange and business applications, while ensuring users are kept informed and issues are managed through to resolution.

The role offers variety, ownership and the opportunity to support key business departments including Control and Dispatch and the Service Delivery Contact Centre.

This is a chance to join a supportive End User Computing team where your technical expertise, communication skills and ownership mindset will make a visible impact. You will be trusted to support critical services, contribute to technology implementations, help users adopt new tools and improve the overall end user experience.

We are looking for someone with experience supporting desktop systems, hardware, Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Teams, Outlook/Exchange, Active Directory or Entra ID, endpoint management tools such as Intune or SCCM, mobile device management and ITSM processes. A degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required, along with at least one relevant certification such as MCSA, A+, Network+ or Security+.

You will also receive a competitive reward package including 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, a personal pension plan with employer contributions, tax-efficient benefits such as Cycle to Work, Home & Tech and Green Car Leasing schemes, occupational health support, an Employee Assistance Programme, discounted gym membership and access to the Switched On retail discount scheme.

If you are customer-focused, technically confident and ready to take ownership of varied end user support challenges, we would like to hear from you. Apply by 04/09/2026 to be considered for this permanent IS End-user Computing Support Engineer opportunity in Ipswich.
