How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Sales Manager  International Transport & Liquid Bulk

Yorkshire Doncaster / North of England | Home Based + European Travel

    £50,000 - £60,000 DOE + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus + Private Healthcare

    Ready to build something bigger?

We are recruiting for an established international transport business looking to appoint a commercially ambitious Sales Manager to help drive its next stage of European growth.

This is a genuine business development and market-growth role .

You will be given the platform, operational backing and autonomy to open new doors, develop major customer relationships and create profitable transport solutions across the UK and Europe.

The opportunity will suit someone who already understands international transport, liquid bulk, chemical logistics, tanker operations or intermodal transport and wants a role where they can have real commercial influence rather than simply manage an inherited account base.

    Your Commercial Opportunity

You will take ownership of developing new revenue streams and strengthening the company's presence across European markets.

    You will:

Identify and win profitable new customers across the UK and Europe
Build a high-value pipeline of commercial opportunities
Develop relationships with major manufacturers, distributors and industrial customers
Grow strategic accounts and identify further revenue opportunities within existing customers
Open new sectors, territories and commercial markets
Lead significant tenders, proposals and commercial negotiations
Negotiate pricing, contracts and long-term customer agreements
Develop bespoke transport solutions around complex customer requirements
Work across road, intermodal and wider multimodal networks
Identify opportunities for modal shift and more efficient, sustainable transport solutions
Develop strategic relationships with European carriers, terminals and transport partners
Work closely with Operations, Fleet, Finance and Customer Service to turn commercial opportunities into deliverable solutions
Monitor margins, transport costs, competitor activity and wider market trends
Provide accurate pipeline, forecast and commercial performance reporting to senior management
Represent the business at customer meetings and industry events across Europe
    Who Are We Looking For?

This role needs someone who knows how to create opportunity, build credibility and close business .

    You will ideally have:

A strong track record in transport or logistics sales/business development
Experience winning significant new B2B business
Strong knowledge of UK and European transport markets
Experience within liquid bulk, chemical logistics, specialist transport or tanker operations
Knowledge of intermodal or multimodal transport
Existing relationships within chemical, industrial, manufacturing or specialist logistics markets
Experience developing and managing major customer accounts
Strong commercial awareness around rates, margins and profitability
Experience leading tenders and negotiating commercial contracts
The ability to engage confidently with procurement, logistics and senior leadership teams
An entrepreneurial approach to finding and creating new opportunities
The flexibility to travel across Europe as required
Experience with ADR, dangerous goods, ISO tanks, tank containers, rail or terminal networks would be highly advantageous.

    Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a role where you will simply be handed a list of customers and asked to maintain them.

You will join an established transport operation with ambitions to grow, giving you the opportunity to have genuine influence over

where the business goes next .

    You will have scope to:

    Build new European markets
    Win high-value strategic customers
    Develop new commercial partnerships
    Create new transport solutions
Influence sales strategy and market positioning
    Work closely with senior leadership
See the direct commercial impact of the business you win
For someone who enjoys opening doors and building long-term profitable business, there is significant opportunity to make this role their own.

    The Package

    £50,000 - £60,000 DOE

    Performance-related bonus

    Company car or car allowance

    Private healthcare

    Travel and expenses package

    European travel

    Long-term career development

The successful candidate will be a credible transport sales professional with the market knowledge, relationships and commercial drive to help expand an international operation.

If you know the specialist transport market and are ready for a role where you can shape growth rather than simply support it , I would be keen to speak with you.
