How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR Business Partner

    Swindon | £50,000–£55,000 + benefits

    The Company

We are delighted to be working with a well-established and successful organisation with a strong reputation within its specialist sector.

The business has a substantial operation in Swindon and is part of an international group, working with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders. The organisation is continuing to evolve and grow, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join the team at an important stage of its development.

The company offers a professional, collaborative environment where people are encouraged to take ownership, challenge constructively and look for better ways of working.

    The Role

This is a hands-on HR Business Partner position, working closely with managers and employees across the organisation. You will take ownership of the day-to-day HR agenda while also bringing a commercial mindset and identifying practical ways to improve the employee experience and effectiveness of the HR function.

You will be visible across the business, building trusted relationships and providing straightforward, commercially sensible HR advice.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees.

    *

Take ownership of a broad range of Employee Relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance issues.

    *

Coach managers to deal confidently and consistently with people-related challenges.

    *

Develop and deliver practical training to strengthen management capability.

    *

Support the effective delivery of performance management processes.

    *

Contribute to talent, succession and capability planning.

    *

Assist with annual reward activity, including pay reviews and bonus processes.

    *

Review and streamline HR processes, introducing simpler and more effective ways of working.

    *

Use people data and HR metrics to identify trends and inform decisions.

    *

Support the effective use and development of HR systems and reporting.

    *

Explore and implement technology and digital tools that can improve HR delivery.

    *

Provide constructive HR input into wider business decisions and leadership discussions.

    *

Depending on experience, provide guidance and support to junior members of the HR team.

    The person

We are looking for a practical and commercially minded HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and making a tangible difference.

    You will ideally have:

    *

CIPD Level 5 or equivalent hands-on HR experience.

    *

Strong generalist HR experience with solid Employee Relations exposure.

    *

Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation.

    *

Experience managing absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.

    *

Confidence handling ER cases independently through to resolution.

    *

    Experience supporting performance management.

    *

Sound judgement and the ability to make balanced, risk-aware decisions.

    *

    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

    *

The confidence to coach, challenge and influence managers.

    *

The ability to work at pace, prioritise effectively and bring structure to a changing environment.

    *

A practical, solutions-focused approach rather than being overly process-driven.

    *

Good HR systems, data and IT skills, with an interest in using technology to improve HR delivery.
