How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking an ambitious, creative and commercially minded Head of Marketing to lead the next stage of our marketing, brand and communications strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior marketer to shape how a growing, multi-site organisation is seen, understood and experienced by its customers, colleagues, prospective employees and wider stakeholders.

    The Role

As Head of Marketing, you will lead the organisation's marketing, brand and communications agenda, developing a clear, compelling and consistent presence across all audiences and channels.

You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, creating marketing activity that delivers measurable organisational impact - from increasing awareness and supporting referrals and service growth, to strengthening the employer brand and attracting and retaining talented people.

A key focus will be developing and bringing to life the organisation's Employer Value Proposition (EVP), ensuring the employee experience is authentically reflected across recruitment campaigns, careers content, social media and

    wider employer-brand activity.

Working closely with senior leaders across People, Recruitment, Commercial and operational functions, you will understand audiences, identify opportunities and turn insight into impactful campaigns.

You will also oversee the organisation's digital presence, internal communications, external profile, events and marketing resources, ensuring a distinctive and consistent voice across every touchpoint.

    Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver an organisation-wide marketing, brand and communications strategy.
Lead the evolution of the brand and ensure consistency across internal and external channels.
Develop annual marketing plans, budgets and KPIs, demonstrating clear return on investment.
Lead the Employer Brand and EVP, developing innovative campaigns that attract and engage the people the organisation needs.
Create marketing campaigns that support business growth, referrals, customer acquisition and service occupancy.
Build the organisation's profile through thought leadership, case studies, success stories and sector communications.
Lead the digital marketing strategy, including social media, website, content and campaigns.
Develop engaging internal communications that connect colleagues with the organisation's vision, values and achievements.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and professional audiences.
Lead the organisation's presence at conferences, exhibitions, forums and networking events.
Use market research, customer insight, competitor analysis and performance data to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
Manage external agencies, suppliers, marketing budgets and brand assets.
Lead, develop and inspire the marketing team, creating a high-performing, collaborative and creative function.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced senior marketing professional who can operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels.

You'll understand that great marketing is about more than generating brand awareness - it's about understanding audiences, influencing behaviour and delivering measurable organisational impact.

    You'll bring:

Significant senior-level marketing experience, ideally within a multi-site or complex organisation.
A proven track record of developing and delivering organisation-wide marketing and communications strategies.
Experience leading, developing and motivating a marketing team.
Strong experience across brand management, employer branding and recruitment marketing.
Experience developing EVPs and attraction campaigns.
A strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, websites, content and SEO.
Experience creating campaigns that support growth, customer acquisition or service development.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience managing budgets, agencies and external suppliers.
A data-led approach, with the ability to use insight and analytics to measure campaign performance and demonstrate ROI.
The creativity to develop compelling campaigns alongside the commercial mindset to understand what makes them successful.

Experience within education, children's services, health, social care or another regulated environment would be advantageous, particularly within a multi-site organisation.
A degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Communications, PR, Business or a related discipline is desirable, alongside evidence of continued professional development. CIM or equivalent professional accreditation would also be advantageous.

    The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a marketer who wants to make a genuine impact - shaping brand, reputation, employee attraction and commercial performance while building a modern, high-performing marketing function.

If you're a strategic thinker who combines creativity, commercially and a strong understanding of people and audiences, we'd love to hear from you
