How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Data Migration Lead

    About the Role

We are working with a large, complex organisation undergoing a significant programme of technology transformation, including the introduction of new SaaS platforms, the consolidation of legacy systems and ongoing business change.

As Data Migration Lead, you will take ownership of the organisation's data migration strategy and delivery, ensuring data is accurately extracted, transformed, cleansed, mapped and loaded into new business systems.

This is a highly technical and commercially important role, working across multiple business functions and transformation programmes. You will work closely with technical teams, Finance and wider business stakeholders to ensure data quality, integrity and reconciliation throughout the migration lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

Define and own the overall Data Migration strategy, standards and approach.
Develop and maintain detailed migration plans, including migration cycles, resources and timelines.
Lead data extraction, transformation and loading activities across multiple systems.
Analyse and profile data to identify gaps, quality issues and potential risks.
Develop data cleansing, mapping and transformation approaches.
Create and maintain data quality reporting and migration documentation.
Work closely with Finance teams to validate migrated data against source-system financial records and investigate discrepancies.
Translate technical data issues into clear business and financial impacts for non-technical stakeholders.
Document data issues, mappings, business rules, risks and transformation requirements.
Work with third-party delivery partners and oversee their migration activities.
Support data due diligence and migration planning as part of wider business change and acquisition activity.
Facilitate data reconciliation and testing activities, ensuring appropriate data extracts are available.
Lead and develop a team of Data Migration Analysts, providing direction, support and progression.
Identify and introduce new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and quality of data migration delivery.

    About You

You will have significant hands-on experience delivering large-scale data migrations within a medium or large organisation, with a strong technical understanding of data extraction, transformation and loading.

    You will ideally have:

Strong T-SQL programming and performance-tuning experience.
Hands-on experience with SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory.
Extensive experience of data transformation and integrations.
Strong data analysis, profiling and data-quality experience.
Experience working with complex stakeholder groups to identify data gaps and define transformation requirements.
The ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
Experience translating technical findings into financial and commercial impacts.
Experience introducing new data technologies or toolsets.
Experience using project/workflow tools such as Azure DevOps.
Experience with Power BI or similar technical reporting tools.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform would be advantageous.
Understanding of business systems such as Finance, Invoicing, CRM and HR systems.
Previous experience managing or mentoring data migration professionals.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work to demanding deadlines.

    Technical Environment

The role will involve working across a range of data and business technology platforms, with particular relevance to:

T-SQL | SSIS | Azure Data Factory | Power BI | Azure DevOps | Microsoft Dynamics 365 | Power Platform

    What You'll Need

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data, Technology or a related discipline.
Relevant technical certifications in Azure data platforms would be beneficial.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to technical documentation and data standards.
Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.
Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to understand both the strategic, long-term impact of technology decisions and the immediate delivery requirements.
A commercially minded approach, with the ability to understand the financial implications of technology and data decisions
