How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Associate – White Collar Crime and Investigations (3–6 years' PQE), London

Our client, a leading City and international law firm, is seeking to appoint an Associate to join its White Collar Defence and Investigations practice in London. The team is regarded as one of the foremost in the market and advises major corporates, financial institutions and senior individuals on matters of significant complexity, value and cross-border reach.

    Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on a broad range of financial crime and regulatory matters, including:

    • Advising individuals in connection with allegations or suspicions of fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering, sanctions breaches, insider dealing and other financial misconduct.
    • Advising corporate and financial institution clients on financial crime risk and compliance, including sanctions, anti-money laundering and anti-bribery and corruption.
    • Advising on UK and international sanctions regimes and export control matters, including risk arising from transactions, counterparties and commercial relationships.
    • Conducting and advising on financial crime due diligence in the context of M&A, investments, joint ventures and other strategic transactions.
    • Advising on the design, implementation and enhancement of financial crime compliance frameworks and controls.
    • Supporting internal investigations into suspected bribery and corruption, fraud, money laundering, sanctions breaches and related misconduct.
    • Advising on regulatory and enforcement risk, including engagement with UK and international authorities as appropriate.
    • Working on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters in coordination with colleagues and advisers across international offices.

    Candidate Requirements

    • 3–6 years' post-qualification experience gained at a Magic Circle, leading City or comparable international law firm.
    • Demonstrable experience in white collar crime, corporate crime, investigations, financial crime or regulatory work.
    • Substantive experience in one or more of the following areas: sanctions, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, financial crime due diligence, or compliance advisory.
    • Experience advising corporate or financial institution clients; experience representing or advising individuals in criminal, regulatory or internal investigations is advantageous.
    • Experience of regulatory enforcement matters or M&A-related compliance due diligence would be particularly valuable.
    • Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex matters involving multiple jurisdictions and competing legal, regulatory and reputational considerations.
    • The ability to engage effectively with senior client stakeholders and to provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
    • A collaborative approach, with the ability to contribute effectively within a high-performing team environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to further develop a specialism within a leading financial crime and investigations practice, with significant client exposure and international scope.
