How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Connect2Hackney are recruiting for an experienced Youth Justice Practitioner to join Hackney's dedicated Youth Justice Service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multi-agency team committed to preventing youth offending, safeguarding vulnerable young people, and reducing reoffending through evidence-based interventions and strong partnership working. The role involves supporting children and young people who are at risk of, or have been involved in, offending behaviour, helping them to achieve positive outcomes and make lasting changes.

    Key Responsibilities

Undertake assessments, develop outcome-focused intervention plans, and manage risk and vulnerability effectively.
Prepare court reports, bail assessments, referral order documentation, and pre-sentence reports.
Represent the service at Youth Court and Police Stations, liaising with courts and partner agencies.
Work collaboratively with Police, Probation, Health, Education, Courts, and Children's Services to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
Support young people subject to pre-court interventions, court orders, custody processes, and restorative justice programmes.

    Requirements

Relevant degree-level qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Probation, or a related field.
Minimum two years' experience working directly with children, young people, and families within a Youth Justice setting.
Strong knowledge of Youth Justice legislation, National Standards, and safeguarding frameworks.
Experience completing risk assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.
Ability to confidently prepare reports and represent the Local Authority in court proceedings.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
Experience working in partnership with multiple agencies to support vulnerable young people and their families.

    What's on Offer?

Opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of young people and their families
Work within a highly respected and supportive Youth Justice Service
Gain valuable experience in a fast-paced multi-agency environment
