We are currently recruiting an experienced Optical Glazer / Fitter to join a busy production team in Birmingham on a temporary assignment of at least 2 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong background in optical glazing, fitting, edging, rimless work, and final inspection to work within a fast-paced environment focused on quality and customer service. The role supports overnight production activities, prioritising urgent orders and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the shift.

Working Hours
10:00pm to 6:00am
Monday to Friday
Minimum 2-month assignment
Night Shift Rate: £20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Glazing and fitting lenses to customer specifications.
Carrying out edging, blocking, mounting, and frame assembly.
Performing rimless glazing and specialist fitting work.
Reading and interpreting prescriptions and frame specifications accurately.
Completing final inspections to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
Prioritising urgent work-in-progress and customer orders.
Maintaining productivity targets while adhering to health and safety procedures.
To be successful in this role, you must have:

Strong experience within an optical glazing or laboratory environment.
Proven skills in glazing, fitting, edging, and lens assembly.
Experience with rimless spectacles.
Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
The ability to work independently on a night shift.
A proactive approach to workload management and problem-solving.
