How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    EC&I Engineer

    Location: West Yorkshire
    Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum
    Job Type: Permanent
    Working Pattern: Office based

    We are currently recruiting for an EC&I Engineer to join an established engineering business based in West Yorkshire.

    The company designs and manufactures specialist engineered equipment and containment solutions for highly regulated industries. This position would suit an experienced EC&I Engineer looking to take responsibility for the electrical, controls and instrumentation elements of technically interesting engineering projects.

    The Role

    You will be involved in projects from initial design and development through to commissioning, working alongside mechanical design, manufacturing and project engineering teams.

    * Electrical controls and instrumentation design

    * PLC programming and software development

    * Working with Siemens or Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC systems

    * Producing electrical drawings and control system documentation

    * Developing and modifying existing control systems

    * Selection and specification of electrical and instrumentation equipment

    * Supporting control panel design and manufacture

    * Fault finding and troubleshooting

    * Supporting testing and commissioning of equipment

    * Working closely with mechanical, electrical and project engineering teams

    * Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle

    What We're Looking For

    * Previous experience within an EC&I, Controls, Automation or Electrical Controls Engineering position

    * Strong PLC programming experience

    * Experience with either Siemens or Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLCs

    * Good understanding of electrical control systems and instrumentation

    * Ability to read and produce electrical drawings and technical documentation

    * Experience working with industrial machinery, process equipment or automated systems

    * Experience within containment, pharmaceutical, cleanroom or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous but isn't essential

    * £40,000 – £60,000 per annum depending on experience
