How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Crawley, West Sussex (close to Gatwick Airport)
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm
    Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    A well-established company based in Crawley is looking to recruit an experienced Electronics Test & Repair Technician to join a team of five technicians.

    This is a hands-on role involving the diagnosis, testing and repair of a range of electrical and electronic equipment. The successful candidate will be methodical in their approach, capable of fault-finding to component level, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Testing and fault-finding electrical and electronic equipment (EEE)

    Diagnosing and repairing faults to component level

    Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and circuit diagrams

    Identifying electronic components and understanding their function within a circuit

    Carrying out soldering and rework activities as required

    Working with wiring assemblies and cable looms

    Using standard electronic test equipment including multimeters and continuity testers

    Recording repair findings and maintaining accurate documentation

    Occasionally liaising directly with customers to discuss faults, clarify issues and provide technical feedback

    Requirements

    Previous experience in an electronics environment

    Ability to read and understand electronic schematic drawings

    Good knowledge of electronic components and basic fault-finding techniques

    Experience of soldering and electronic assembly work

    Competent in the use of basic electronic test equipment

    Logical, methodical and detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting

    Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with customers
