How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Blackstone Education are currently working with a client who are looking to recruit both Speech and Language Therapists and Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapists on either a locum or permanent basis.

    These roles are based around Lambeth area, South West and South London within various SEN and mainstream schools and clinics.

    Salary range is up to £50,000 for SaLTs and £65,000 for Highly specialist therapists depending on experience. Locum rates to be negotiated.

    Minimum requirements for this role are 2 years post qualified experience working within schools. Please note competencies must be completed.

    About the role

    You’ll work mainly in school settings with some clinic-based and remote opportunities where appropriate. Supporting children and young people with a range of communication and developmental needs, you’ll combine direct therapy with assessment, consultation and practical strategies that make a difference beyond the therapy session.

    In this role, you’ll:

    ·Assess children and young people with SEND, autism, developmental language needs, social communication differences, SEMH needs and more complex profiles.

    · Plan and deliver evidence-based, individualised interventions, including direct therapy, advice and consultation.

    · Contribute to EHCP assessments, reports and outcome reviews.

    · Work closely with teachers, parents, carers, SENCOs and multidisciplinary colleagues to embed communication support throughout the school day.

    · Review progress, adapt intervention plans and contribute to joined-up support for children with more complex needs.

    It’s a varied role where you’ll balance assessment, therapy, consultation and collaboration, with the chance to make a visible difference to children, families and school teams every day.

    What you’ll need

    * BSc or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.

    * HCPC registration.

    * Experience in paediatric, school-based or EHCP-focused settings

    It would be great if you also bring

    ·Confidence supporting children and young people with complex communication, SEMH or behavioural needs

    ·Experience completing assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans

    ·Specialist CPD, training or trauma-informed practice experience
