How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Health & Safety Advisor
    £50,000 - £60,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Benefits
Northampton / Bedford / Milton Keynes | Regional role

Are you a Health & Safety professional with experience working within construction?

Would you like to join an established construction business that can offer long-term career development, a varied project portfolio and the opportunity to work as part of an experienced Health & Safety team?

Search² has been exclusively retained to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor for a successful UK construction business, supporting projects across the East Midlands and East of England.

This is a multi-site position where you'll work closely with operational teams, providing practical Health & Safety support across a variety of construction projects.

Our client is open-minded on experience. You don't necessarily need years of experience behind you or to be the finished article. They're more interested in finding someone with a solid grounding in construction Health & Safety, the right attitude and the ability to develop within the business.

    What you will be doing
Providing practical Health & Safety support across multiple construction projects.
Visiting sites and working closely with operational and project teams.
Carrying out Health & Safety inspections, audits and reviews.
Supporting teams with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
Providing advice on Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
Supporting incident investigations and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Building strong relationships with operational teams and site management.
Helping maintain consistently high Health & Safety standards across your region. What you will need
Experience working within Health & Safety in the construction industry.
A good understanding of construction site activities and associated risks.
A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH.
The confidence to work independently and manage your own workload.
Strong communication skills and a practical approach to Health & Safety.
A full UK driving licence. You may already be an experienced Health & Safety Advisor looking for a new challenge, or you could be earlier in your career and looking for an opportunity to take on greater responsibility.

    What's on offer?
    £50,000 - £60,000 salary
    Company car or car allowance
    Double match employer pension contribution
    Healthcare benefits
Option to purchase additional annual leave
Continued professional development and career progression If you're interested in finding out more, apply today or contact Search² for a confidential conversation.
