Children’s Social Worker – Family Safeguarding

SW Locums is looking for an experienced and committed Children’s Social Worker to join Enfield Council’s newly launched Family Help and Family Safeguarding Service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an innovative, strengths-based approach focused on keeping children safe, supporting families and creating sustainable change.

The Role

You’ll work directly with children and families, managing complex cases and delivering purposeful interventions that improve safety, wellbeing and long-term outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

Completing high-quality assessments

*

Developing and reviewing Child in Need (CIN) plans

*

Managing long-term child protection cases

*

Building strong, trusting relationships with children and families

*

Managing complex caseloads and assessing risk

*

Delivering effective, evidence-informed interventions

*

Keeping the child's lived experience and voice at the centre of practice

Enfield’s Family Safeguarding model brings together Family Help, Children’s Social Care and specialist adult services, enabling practitioners to address wider family needs including domestic abuse, parental mental health, substance misuse, trauma and exploitation.

What We're Looking For

This is an experienced practitioner position. Candidates should have:

At least 3 years’ experience in direct employment within Local Authority Children’s Social Care

*

Strong assessment and safeguarding experience

*

Experience with CIN planning and long-term child protection

*

Confidence managing cases independently

*

Strong risk assessment and management skills

*

The ability to adapt practice when working with complex or unusual situations

Rate: £37.52 per hour

Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Hybrid: Available
