How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is currently looking for a Parking Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to improve traffic and parking aligned with a significant resurfacing programme.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct initial desktop surveys and site visits for junction locations according to the resurfacing programme
    Incorporate survey data, propose DYL markings, relocate street furniture where necessary, and adjust parking/loading arrangements
    Identify constraints or opportunities affecting proposed amendments, including visibility and existing infrastructure
    Assess the impact of proposed changes on waiting and loading restrictions per Traffic Management Orders (TMOs)
    Document survey findings with photographs, notes, and sketches for reference
    Produce accurate and clear drawings for each junction, adhering to the agreed standard drawing format
    Ensure drawings comply with current traffic engineering standards, borough policies, and relevant legislation
    Coordinate with the resurfacing team to align with the programme of works

    Job Requirements:

    Experience in parking, traffic, and CPZ (Controlled Parking Zones)
    Proficiency in conducting desktop surveys and site visits
    Ability to incorporate survey data into project plans
    Understanding of traffic engineering standards and relevant legislation
    Strong documentation skills including the ability to produce clear drawings and survey reports
    Excellent communication skills for liaising with key stakeholders and coordinating with contractors
    Experience in managing project timelines, resources, and milestones

    Additional Responsibilities:

    Submit drawings for internal review
    Coordinate with contractors to schedule works minimising disruption to traffic and residents
    Monitor site works to ensure specification adherence and timely completion
    Address any variations or unforeseen issues during the implementation phase
