How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

General Healthcare is a family-owned business established in 1986. We develop, manufacture and distribute a wide range of healthcare, cosmetics and personal care products, supplying customers across the UK and internationally.

Our direct-to-consumer eCommerce business fulfils thousands of customer orders each year through our own warehouse, supplying customers via our websites and leading online marketplaces.

We're looking for a reliable, organised and motivated Fulfilment & Warehouse Operative to join our small team. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately while helping maintain the smooth day-to-day running of our warehouse.

    The Role

This is a hands-on operational role at the heart of our business, responsible for the safe receipt, organisation, storage, picking and packing of customer orders. Accuracy, organisation and attention to detail are essential, as you'll ensure every order is dispatched correctly and on time.

Working closely with the Warehouse and eCommerce teams, you'll run the day-to-day fulfilment operation, helping to maintain an efficient warehouse while contributing to high operational standards.

No two days are the same. While around 40% of the role focuses on eCommerce fulfilment, the remainder involves supporting the wider warehouse operation.

    eCommerce Fulfilment

    • Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Prepare shipments for Royal Mail and other courier collections.
    • Process customer returns and exchanges.
    • Ensure orders are completed within SLA.
    • Maintain high standards of packing quality and accuracy.

    Warehouse Operations

    • Build, organise, and shrink-wrap pallets safely and securely.
    • Receive, check and put away incoming stock and deliveries; replenish picking locations.
    • Load and unload shipping containers as required.
    • Prepare Amazon FBA shipment plans.
    • Assemble product components and prepare finished goods for sale.
    • Apply product labels, barcodes and packaging as required.
    • Carry out stock counts and assist with inventory control and record-keeping.
    • Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse, including layout improvements and general housekeeping.
    • Support colleagues and other operational tasks during busy periods and seasonal peaks.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience in a fulfilment, warehouse, or logistics environment
    • Comfortable working in an active warehouse environment, including receiving deliveries, moving stock and supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse.
    • Excellent attention to detail, with good organisational and time-management skills.
    • Technically confident and comfortable learning new warehouse and fulfilment systems.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
    • Reliable, punctual and hardworking, with a positive, willing-to-learn attitude.
    • Physically able to carry out warehouse duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

    Desirable Skills

    • Experience using Linnworks or similar warehouse/order management software.
    • Previous eCommerce fulfilment experience.
    • Experience using barcode scanners and shipping systems.
    • Basic stock control or inventory experience.
    • Experience preparing Amazon FBA shipments.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive salary.
    • Company bonus scheme.
    • Private healthcare (after qualifying period).
    • Birthday leave.
    • 28 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata for part-time employees).
    • Casual dress.
    • Free on-site parking.
    • Full training provided.
    • Opportunities to develop as the business continues to grow.
    • Friendly, supportive and welcoming team environment.

Why Join Us? This is an exciting opportunity to join a small growing business where every team member makes a real impact. We're proud of our friendly culture and are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a hardworking team, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow with the company.
