How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teacher – Primary Specialist Provision – East London.

    Education First | East London | Competitive daily rates | Daily Supply & Long-Term Opportunities

    SEN Teachers Wanted – Primary Specialist Provision

    Education First is recruiting passionate and experienced SEN Teachers, SEND Teachers and Primary Teachers to work within specialist primary provisions across East London.

    We're looking for teachers who understand how to support pupils with high and complex needs and who can create a calm, structured, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

    If you have experience working with high needs, complex SEN, Autism, SEMH, ADHD or challenging behaviour, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

    As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, personalised teaching to pupils within a specialist primary setting.

    Depending on the provision and pupils you work with, this could involve supporting children with:

    * Autism / ASC

    * Complex learning needs

    * Severe learning difficulties

    * SEMH

    * ADHD

    * Communication and interaction needs

    * Challenging behaviour

    * Additional and complex needs

    You'll be expected to adapt teaching, communication, curriculum and classroom routines to meet individual pupil needs and help every child make meaningful progress.

    What We're Looking For

    We're looking for teachers who can demonstrate:

    * QTS or an appropriate UK teaching qualification

    * Experience working with pupils with SEN/SEND

    * Experience supporting children with high or complex needs, or a strong understanding of how to meet those needs

    * Excellent classroom and behaviour management

    * The ability to differentiate and personalise learning

    * A calm, consistent and nurturing approach

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

    Experience within a specialist school, SEN provision, resource base, autism setting, alternative provision or mainstream school with significant SEN provision would be highly advantageous.

    You don't necessarily need to have worked exclusively in specialist education. If you're a strong primary teacher with a genuine understanding of SEND and the confidence to adapt your teaching, we'd still like to hear from you.

    What You Can Expect From Education First

    * Competitive daily rates

    * Rates based on experience, qualifications and the complexity of the role

    * Daily supply and long-term opportunities

    * Specialist primary provisions across East London

    * Weekly pay

    * A dedicated Education First consultant

    * Opportunities matched to your SEN experience

    * Ongoing support throughout your placement

    * Potential long-term and permanent opportunities

    The Right Person

    We're looking for someone who sees beyond a diagnosis or label.

    Someone who understands that effective SEN teaching means adapting the environment, communication, curriculum and expectations around the individual child.

    If you're an experienced SEN Teacher, SEND Teacher or Primary Teacher who wants to work with pupils with higher levels of need, this could be an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference.

    Why Work With Education First?

    At Education First, we understand that working in specialist education requires the right environment, the right support and the right level of expertise.

    We'll take the time to understand your experience and the type of SEN setting you're looking for before introducing you to suitable schools. Our aim is to build lasting relationships with our teachers and provide ongoing support throughout every placement.
