How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * 8:30am – 5:00pm (flexibility can be given), with an earlier finish on Friday’s
    * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays.
    * Company laptop and mobile phone.
    * Opportunity to develop your experience across 2D/3D CAD, fabrication and bespoke industrial engineering projects.
    Mechanical Design Draughtsman Candidate Requirements
    * Proven experience in engineering, draughting or a drawing office environment.
    * Strong 2D AutoCAD skills, ideally producing general arrangement, layout and fabrication drawings.
    * Experience with 3D CAD, such as SolidWorks, Inventor or similar.
    * Understanding of fabrication, manufacturing and practical installation requirements.
    * Ability to produce accurate, coordinated drawings suitable for manufacture, installation and commissioning.
    * Strong attention to detail, with the confidence to identify design issues, clashes or ambiguities and raise them early.
    * HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
The Mechanical Design Draughtsman will take ownership of the accuracy and quality of your drawings, working closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to resolve technical queries and develop practical solutions. The ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers is important.
    Mechanical Design Draughtsman Key Responsibilities
    * Mechanical Design Draughtsman will produce detailed 2D AutoCAD general arrangement, layout and fabrication drawings.

    * Combine predominantly 2D AutoCAD with some 3D CAD.
    * Get involved from site surveys and initial design through to fabrication, installation and commissioning.
    * Develop your experience across fabrication, industrial systems and practical engineering design, working closely with engineers, suppliers and customers.
