The Ocean Export Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, routing, rating, monitoring of international shipments (ocean export) from pick-up through to delivery.
This role may be well suited to candidates with minimum 1 year of experience in freight forwarding and a background in customer service, who are looking to further develop their skills and experience
Essential Job Funcations:
- Deals directly with clients, customs and agents to ensure the quickest and best movement of cargo throughout the world.
- Prepares documents necessary to complete export, and customs clearance process.
- Track and trace cargo as necessary to insure proper movement and delivery.
- Proper and correct billing and cost information populated in the global transport management system for accurate invoicing and job costing.
- Communicate with customers regarding disposition of Freight (i.e., tracking & tracing, routing & dispatching, and rate quotations).
- Communicate & correspond with other Company branches and agents for customer satisfaction and ensure excellent service execution.
- Seek the most profitable mode of shipment yet meet customer’s requirement for the movement of freight.
- Daily KPI adherence.

- Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent client service skills, responding promptly and professionally to client needs and requests for service and assistance.
- English language knowledge (oral/written) - level B1 minimum
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence.
- Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills.
Experience and Education required:
- Minimum 1 year experience in Ocean freight export
- Confident in closing, innovative, energetic, motivated and flexible.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Fluent level of English, both written and spoken
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Certifications and Licenses required:
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
