How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    FLEXIBLE HOURS AND WORKING DAYS

    Location: Bognor Regis & Chichester

    Looking for a job where no two days are the same?

    We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established, highly respected charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people to live independently and enjoy life on their own terms.

    This is more than a care role. It's about building confidence, encouraging independence, and helping people do the things that matter most to them, whether that's learning a new skill, meeting friends for coffee, trying a new hobby, or simply having someone in their corner.

    If you're kind, reliable and enjoy making a positive difference, we'd love to hear from you.

    What you'll be doing

    As a Support Worker, you'll support people both in their own homes and out in the community, helping them live fulfilling, independent lives.

    Every person is different, so every day looks a little different too. You might be:

    * Supporting someone to access activities, clubs or social events

    * Building genuine relationships and providing emotional support

    * Helping with cooking and everyday household tasks

    * Supporting with medication

    * Accompanying people to appointments

    * Assisting with budgeting and developing life skills

    * Encouraging confidence, independence and personal goals

    * Providing personal care where needed (only for a small number of people)

    This role is centred around empowering people, not doing everything for them.

    The shifts

    * 37.5 hours per week

    * One weekend every other week

    * Flexible shifts between 8:00am and 10:00pm (occasionally until 11:00pm)

    * Sleep-ins paid at £69.76 per shift (Optional)

    What we're looking for

    You don't need years of experience to be great at this role.

    If you're someone who is:

    * Kind, patient and compassionate

    * Positive, approachable and dependable

    * A good communicator

    * Respectful of people's choices and individuality

    * Keen to help others build confidence and independence

    * Willing to learn and develop

    ...we'd love to hear from you.

    Experience in care or support work is required, but it's your attitude and values that really matter.

    Why join?

    Alongside a rewarding career, you'll receive an excellent benefits package including:

    * Enhanced annual leave

    * Paid birthday or celebration day off

    * One paid volunteering day each year

    * Enhanced sick pay

    * Enhanced employer pension contributions

    * Death in service benefit

    * Cost of living support package, including a rental deposit scheme

    * Cycle to Work scheme

    * Electric vehicle scheme

    * Generous Refer a Friend bonus

    * Ongoing training and career development

    * Flexible working opportunities

    Ready to make a difference?

    If you're looking for a career that's rewarding, varied and genuinely makes an impact, we'd love to hear from you
