How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you passionate about making a real difference in young lives? We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and resilient Children’s Support Worker to join our dynamic residential care team. From encouraging emotional wellbeing and building strong, trusting relationships to supporting education, life skills, and positive social development, no two days will be the same. Your energy, commitment, and care will help young people grow in confidence, resilience, and independence as they move toward brighter futures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people in line with their individual care plans

    * Build trusting, positive relationships with children, promoting their self-esteem and independence

    * Support with daily routines, including getting ready for school, meal preparation, and bedtime routines

    * Work proactively with colleagues, external professionals, and families to safeguard and promote the welfare of children

    * Encourage participation in education, leisure activities, and life skills development

    * Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards

    * Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour and incidents, following established policies and behaviour management techniques

    * Participate in regular supervision, training, and team meetings

    * Work flexibly to cover a mixture of early and late shifts, including weekends and holidays as part of a rota

    Requirements:

    * Experience working within a professional care setting within the UK

    * Experience in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours

    * Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

    * Ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure

    * A genuine passion for supporting young people and making a positive difference in their lives

    * Must be able to work mixed shift patterns, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.

    * Must be able to commit to 1 sleep in per week.
