How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This role would suit a high energy, proactive and dependable HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and employees, is comfortable handling a varied caseload and doesn't wait to be told what needs doing.

    The Role

You will have a strong focus on employee relations, HR casework, absence management, flexible working, performance management, recruitment and onboarding, as well as providing generalist HR support across the business.

This is a hands on role where you will need to be confident managing your own workload, prioritising competing demands and dealing with sensitive situations professionally.

    Key Responsibilities

Provide first line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
Manage and support employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence matters
Support investigations, meetings, note taking and preparation of HR documentation

Support flexible working requests and meetings
Promote positive employee relations and support effective resolution of workplace issues
Coordinate recruitment activity from advertising through to offer
    Screen applications and arrange interviews
Manage references, right to work checks and pre employment checks
Prepare contracts, offer documentation and HR correspondence
Coordinate onboarding and induction for new employees
Monitor probation periods and ensure reviews are completed
Produce HR reports and management information
    Support employee wellbeing initiatives
Assist with learning and development activities
Support the review and development of HR policies and procedures

    What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring confidence, energy and a practical approach to the role.

    You'll ideally have:

Previous experience working as an HR Advisor, HR Officer, People Advisor or similar HR generalist role
Strong experience handling employee relations and HR casework
Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence processes
Experience managing sickness reviews and flexible working meetings
Good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
Experience across recruitment, onboarding and general HR administration
CIPD Level 3 or Level 5, or currently working towards a relevant qualification
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confidence dealing with confidential and sensitive employee matters
A proactive, dependable and solution focused approach

    What You'll Bring

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys being hands on.

You'll be comfortable working in a fast moving environment, dealing with a varied HR workload and building strong relationships across the business. You'll be approachable and professional, but also confident enough to challenge when required.

You'll need to be organised, resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your workload.

If you are an HR Advisor looking for a 12 month fixed term contract where you can make an immediate impact, this could be a great opportunity to join a technology business at an exciting stage of its development.
