How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&E Quantity Surveyor - Hyperscale Data Centre
    Location: London
    Salary: £85,000 - £105,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + Travel

    We are currently working with a Tier 1 Main Contractor looking to appoint an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major hyperscale data centre project in London.

    The project is currently in pre-construction, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to become involved at an early stage and play a key role in the commercial management of the M&E package through procurement, construction and final account.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor with a strong pipeline of major data centre and mission-critical projects.

    The Role

    As M&E Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

    Commercial management of major mechanical and electrical packages
    Supporting the project during the pre-construction and procurement stages
    Tender analysis, subcontractor procurement and contract negotiation
    Preparation and management of budgets, forecasts and cost reports
    Managing subcontractor applications, payments and variations
    Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
    Change control and valuation of variations
    Working closely with the M&E, project and commercial management teams
    Preparation and agreement of final accounts
    Ensuring strong commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle

    Candidate Requirements

    Candidates must have:

    HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying
    Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience
    Strong experience managing M&E packages on major construction projects
    Good understanding of subcontract procurement, cost management and contract administration
    Experience working for a main contractor or major M&E contractor
    Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
    Excellent communication and negotiation skillsPrevious experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities or other technically complex projects would be highly advantageous.
