How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Audit Assistant Manager

    Location: Edinburgh

    Salary: Competitive

Want to step into a role where you can make a real impact? Looking to develop your career with an established, growing firm?

We believe that great service comes from great people – where creating a supportive team is essential, and where new colleagues feel valued from day one.

Our purpose is to listen, advise and support our clients to achieve their goals. Having talented people on board to deliver a high-quality service is our priority.

We nurture and encourage our team in their development, offering training and opportunities to help you build your career.

    About the Firm

We are a thriving independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland. Our team comprises experienced partners and over 100 staff, with expertise across a wide range of accounting and business advisory, insolvency and wealth management services.

We are trusted advisors, providing clear insight, digital efficiency and long-term support to our clients. We work with owner-managed businesses, SMEs, large and multi-national businesses, and individuals.

    The Team

We nurture talent and offer training and development opportunities to ensure we get the best from our people. Working in smaller teams helps us maintain personal relationships, with our values at the heart of everything we do.

About the Audit Assistant Manager Role

Manage a varied client portfolio, including entities across sectors such as technology, healthcare, construction, manufacturing and charities. Clients range from corporate organisations and owner-managed businesses to group entities.
Work closely with Responsible Individuals and Audit Managers, reviewing the work of junior staff prior to overall review, resolving queries wherever possible and providing constructive feedback.
    Lead audits with minimal support.
Manage and direct the audit process, taking responsibility for planning and co-ordinating the work.
Liaise with clients to develop an understanding of their industry and the wider business, economic and regulatory environment.
Guide the team in designing tests to ensure the adequacy of controls, identify weaknesses in systems and make recommendations to clients.
Develop less experienced staff through on-the-job training and support their professional development.
Liaise directly with clients, maintaining and building relationships to deliver a service that exceeds expectations.
Draft and review audit completion reports.
Take responsibility for your own workload, including the timely completion of audit work and ensuring work is completed within budget.
Prepare statutory accounts and draft corporation tax computations.
