How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Intervention Tutor - Corby - GCSE & Functional Skills

    £30 per hour | Flexible Hours | Long & Short-Term Assignments | Home & Community-Based

    Are you passionate about helping young people re-engage with education, catch up with missed learning and work towards their GCSEs or Functional Skills qualifications?

    Academics are working with learners across Corby who require personalised educational support outside of a traditional classroom environment. As an Intervention Tutor, you will provide 1:1 tuition in home and community settings, helping learners identify gaps in their knowledge, rebuild confidence and make meaningful academic progress.

    Assignments can range from short-term interventions to longer-term placements, offering flexibility while allowing you to build strong, positive relationships with your learners.

    The Role

    Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people.
    Support learners to catch up with missed learning and develop their academic skills.
    Focus on key areas such as English and Maths, supporting GCSE and Functional Skills learning.
    Identify gaps in knowledge and adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs.
    Help learners who may have experienced barriers to education to re-engage with learning.
    Build confidence, motivation and positive attitudes towards education.
    Track progress and help learners work towards their individual educational goals.Requirements

    Previous experience supporting or teaching children and young people is preferred but not essential.
    Strong English and Maths skills, with the ability to support GCSE and/or Functional Skills learning.
    Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be advantageous.
    A patient, adaptable and encouraging approach.
    £30 per hour.
