How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Inspector (CMM)
    Location: Ampthill
    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
    Clearance: BPSS required to start
    Working Pattern: Hybrid – 50%
    Sector: Defence | Aerospace

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector (CMM) to ensure products meet engineering, customer and regulatory requirements through accurate inspection and measurement.
    The role will support production, NPI and continuous improvement, with responsibility for identifying and managing non-conforming material.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program, edit and operate CMM inspection programmes.
    Complete first-off, in-process and final inspections.
    Use CMMs and manual equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
    Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T.
    Produce inspection reports and maintain quality records.
    Raise and manage NCRs, supporting containment and investigations.
    Support FAI / AS9102 and product qualification activities.
    Develop measurement solutions using CMMs and articulated arms.
    Support SPC and Control Plan activities.
    Required Experience:
    Proven experience programming, editing and operating CMMs.
    Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
    Experience with manual inspection equipment.
    Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
    Ability to follow quality procedures and inspection standards.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills.Desirable:
    PC-DMIS and/or PolyWorks Inspector experience.
    Knowledge of SPC, Control Plans and FAI/AS9102.
    SAP or similar ERP experience.
    Articulated arm measurement experience.
    Aerospace, Defence or other regulated manufacturing experience.
    Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
