Electrical Improver

Role Overview
The Electrical Improver supports the electrical and facilities team in maintaining, installing, and inspecting electrical systems within an office environment. This role is ideal for someone with foundational electrical knowledge who is working toward full qualification and wants hands-on experience in a commercial setting. The position involves assisting with routine maintenance, minor installations, troubleshooting, and ensuring office electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Support
Assist qualified electricians with inspection, testing, and maintenance of office electrical systems, including lighting, power outlets, HVAC controls, and emergency systems.
Help install and replace electrical components such as sockets, switches, lighting fixtures, and cable trays.
Support fault-finding activities and basic troubleshooting under supervision.

Skills & Experience
Essential
Basic electrical knowledge or Level 2, 3 electrical qualifications (or working toward it).
18th Edition
Experience working alongside qualified electricians or in a similar improver role.
Understanding of electrical safety and safe isolation practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work neatly, professionally, and in customer-facing office environments.

Desirable
Experience in commercial or corporate buildings.
Knowledge of building management systems (BMS).
Familiarity with office fit‑out or moves/adds/changes (MAC) work
