How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

My client is an established and growing plumbing and drainage services business, providing specialist solutions to commercial customers across the UK.

They are now looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join their team in Essex and help expand their presence within the Facilities Management (FM) sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FM sales professional who understands how to sell specialist services, build relationships with key decision-makers and turn opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships.

    The Opportunity

As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving sustainable growth for the business. You will be responsible for identifying and winning new clients, developing existing relationships and increasing the company’s footprint within the FM market.

You will work closely with Facilities Management companies, facilities managers, property professionals and other commercial decision-makers to introduce them to the company’s plumbing and drainage services.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Identify, develop and win new business within the Facilities Management sector.

    * Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities for additional work.

    * Build strong relationships with FM companies, facilities managers and key decision-makers.

    * Manage the sales process from initial contact through to contract award.

    * Promote a range of commercial plumbing and drainage services.

    * Build and maintain a strong, sustainable sales pipeline.

    * Attend client meetings, networking events and relevant industry events.

    * Work collaboratively with internal operational teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.

    * Monitor market trends and identify new opportunities for growth.

    * Contribute to the wider commercial and business development strategy.

    The Candidate

    * You must have previous experience selling a Hard or Soft service into FM companies.

    * A proven track record of selling B2B services.

    * An established network of FM contacts would be highly advantageous.

    * Strong commercial and negotiation skills.

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

    * A proactive and self-motivated approach to generating new business.

    * The drive and confidence to open doors, win new accounts and grow existing relationships
