How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Executive Assistant / Office Manager

Excelsior Group Limited is a growing, family-run principal contractor delivering residential schemes across the Midlands and South East, typically ranging from £6m–£25m. We specialise in low-carbon construction and MMC, with a focus on building high-quality homes efficiently, responsibly and with the lowest possible environmental impact.

With an exciting portfolio of live projects and a strong pipeline ahead, we’re looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant / Office Manager to join our close-knit team.

This is a key role at the heart of the business, working directly with the owners and senior management team. We’re looking for someone who will stay one step ahead and can be trusted to take ownership. As the role develops, you’ll have the opportunity to build your own support team, starting with recruiting an assistant to work alongside you.

You’ll be bright, highly organised and proactive, with the confidence to make decisions, solve problems and keep things moving without needing to be asked.

This isn’t a traditional EA role. It’s broad, varied and hands-on, with the opportunity to become an integral part of the business.

    Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
    Hours: Full time, 8.30am–5.00pm

    The Role

This is a broad and varied role combining Executive Assistant, Office Management and business support. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of your areas, manage competing priorities and become a go-to person across the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Executive Support

    EA/PA to the owners

    Diary management and meeting coordination

    Presentations, reports and award submissions

Organising company events, awards and team socials

    Projects & Compliance

    * Compile project manuals and handover documentation

    * Coordinate defect management and tender administration

    * Support project set-up and day-to-day site administration

    * Coordinate H&S documentation, policies, signage and compliance

    * Manage SMAS, ISO and other accreditations

    * Liaise with clients and contractors on CDM and compliance requirements

    * Organise and deliver our Social Value commitments across all projects

    People

    * Coordinate recruitment administration, contracts and HR processes

    * Manage holidays, sickness and employee records

    * Organise training and maintain training records

    * Coordinate reviews and day-to-day HR queries

    Office & Business Management

    * Take ownership of the smooth day-to-day running of the office

    * Manage IT support and external service providers

    * Manage the company vehicle fleet, insurance and claims

    * Oversee supplier contracts and renewals including mobiles, internet, fuel cards and printers

    * Manage uniforms, stationery, post and office compliance

    * Welcome clients and visitors

    Marketing & Communications

    * Oversee the company’s LinkedIn and wider social media presence

    * Coordinate website updates

    * Support company presentations, awards and external communications

    About You

You’ll be an experienced EA, PA or Office Manager who is comfortable working closely with business owners and senior management.

    You’ll be someone who is:

    * Exceptionally organised and able to juggle competing priorities

    * Proactive – you anticipate rather than wait to be asked

    * Confident, capable and comfortable taking responsibility

    * Discreet and trustworthy

    * A strong written and verbal communicator

    * Good with people at every level, from site teams to clients

    * Comfortable with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel

    * Able to bring structure and order without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

    Useful to have:

    * Construction experience would be useful, but finding the right person is more important to us than finding someone from the right industry.

    * HR or H&S qualifications or a desire to train in this field

Above all, we’re looking for someone who wants to become a trusted and important part of the business
