How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk 
    Cradley Heath
    20 hours per week
    £13-£15 per hour 
    Temporary ongoing (with the possibility to go permanent for the right candidate!)

    We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our client, a well-established, business within the Cradley Heath area. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

    Main responsibilities (not limited to):

    Assist with day-to-day finance administration tasks.

    Support payroll processing, including preparation of wages and related documentation.

    Process and make payments via the bank system.

    Handle finance-related queries and escalate issues when necessary.

    Manage invoice processing, including checking, authorising, emailing, and following up on outstanding invoices.

    Maintain and update the BACS payment list with accurate due dates.

    Chase customer payments and monitor outstanding balances.

    Check, chase, and file proof of deliveries related to purchasing activities.

    Respond to phone and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner.

    Provide general finance administrative support as required, including ad hoc tasks.

    Person specification:

    Previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role ( Essential) 

    Experience within Payroll

    Comfortable using a range of computer systems and tools.

    Strong attention to detail and excellent timekeeping.

    Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
