How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Learning Disabilities Support Worker

    Location: Islington, North London
    Pay Rate: £17.00–£20.00 per hour (UMB)
    Contract: Ongoing / Long-Term
    Hours: Full-Time – Monday to Friday & Weekend Availability
    Sector: Health & Social Care / Learning Disabilities / Supported Living

    About the Role

    Nocturnal Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting experienced Learning Disabilities Support Workers to work with our clients across Islington and North London.

    We are looking for reliable, compassionate and experienced Support Workers who are passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible.

    You will provide high-quality, person-centred support within supported living and community-based settings, helping individuals develop their independence, maintain meaningful relationships and participate fully within their local community.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Support Worker looking for ongoing, long-term work, competitive pay and the opportunity to work with established health and social care services.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities within supported living and community settings.

    Promote independence, choice, dignity and inclusion in all aspects of daily life.

    Support service users with personal care, medication, daily living skills and household tasks where required.

    Encourage individuals to develop independence and confidence within their community.

    Support service users to access appointments, activities, education, employment and community facilities.

    Follow individual care plans, support plans, risk assessments and behavioural support plans.

    Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies in a consistent and compassionate manner.

    Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily records, reports and documentation.

    Work effectively with families, social workers, healthcare professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

    Promote equality, diversity, dignity and respect at all times.

    Follow relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding requirements.

    Ensure all support is delivered in accordance with the individual's needs, preferences and agreed support plan.

    Essential Requirements

    * Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.

    * Experience within supported living, residential care, community care or similar health and social care settings.

    * NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care – Adults, or an equivalent qualification.

    * Strong understanding of Safeguarding Adults, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and person-centred care.

    * Right to work in the UK.

    * DBS on the Update Service, with the original physical DBS certificate available.

    * Up-to-date mandatory training certificates.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * Reliable, professional and committed approach to work.

    * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider care team.

    * Flexibility to work Monday to Friday and weekends.
