Key Responsibilities
* Assist fee‑earners throughout the conveyancing process, including freehold and leasehold matters.
* Open new files, verify client ID, and input accurate client/matter details into case management systems.
* Request and chase documents from clients, agents, lenders, and other solicitors.
* Prepare legal documents: contracts, transfer deeds, replies to enquiries, mortgage reports, and completion paperwork.
* Arrange and review searches (OS1, bankruptcy, local authority, etc.).
* Update clients and introducers regularly, ensuring high‑quality customer service.
* Manage exchange and completion processes, including preparing completion statements and coordinating funds.
* Submit SDLT returns and Land Registry applications, dealing with requisitions promptly.
* Handle post‑completion tasks, file closures, and storage of deeds
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with AML and firm procedures
Essential Skills & Competencies
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
* Customer‑service focus and professional telephone manner.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Experience Requirements
* Experience assisting with residential conveyancing transactions (typically 1 year or more).
* Knowledge of the conveyancing process from start to finish.
* Familiarity with AML procedures and legal administrative processes.
