How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    NEC4 Scope Author - Contract Opportunity

    An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced NEC4 Scope Author to support a major infrastructure programme within a highly regulated engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and coordinating NEC4 Scope documentation, ensuring alignment between design, construction, commercial and client requirements.

    Working closely with project stakeholders, delivery partners and commercial teams, you will review existing design and advanced works documentation to inform the development of Main Works and detailed design scope documents. You will be responsible for establishing baseline positions across programme interfaces, delivery milestones, operational readiness requirements and handover strategies to support successful project delivery.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Reviewing existing design and advanced works documentation to inform future project scope requirements.
    Developing NEC4 Main Works Scope documentation for construction delivery partners.
    Producing detailed design scope documentation aligned to the next phase of project delivery.
    Coordinating programme interfaces and establishing baseline positions for key delivery milestones, dependencies and handover requirements.
    Working with commercial teams to define and incorporate relevant NEC4 contract options and scope requirements.
    Engaging with client teams, design partners and construction partners to capture and integrate stakeholder requirements.
    Facilitating reviews and approvals to achieve agreement across all key project stakeholders.
    Delivering high-quality NEC4 Scope documentation within challenging programme timescales.
    Requirements:

    Proven experience authoring NEC3 or NEC4 Scope documents on major engineering, infrastructure, nuclear, defence or construction projects.
    Strong understanding of project delivery lifecycles, design development and construction execution.
    Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing complex interface requirements.
    Excellent commercial awareness with knowledge of NEC contract mechanisms.
    Strong communication, facilitation and document management skills.
    Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

    Contract opportunity.
    Hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of three days per week on site in Derby.
    Current SC Clearance preferred; clearance sponsorship may be available for suitable candidates.
