How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing specialist contractor is looking to appoint an FRA Project Manager to support the delivery of Fire Risk Assessment remedial works and passive fire protection projects across social housing and occupied residential properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in construction, property maintenance, social housing or passive fire protection who is looking to develop their project management career within a specialist and increasingly important area of the construction sector.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilisation and surveys through to programming, remedial works, quality assurance and final completion.

    The Role

You will be responsible for helping coordinate multiple FRA remedial and passive fire protection projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required standards.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the delivery of multiple FRA remedial and passive fire protection projects.

Assisting with project mobilisation, surveys, programming, installation, inspection and close-out.

Coordinating operatives, surveyors, subcontractors, materials and site attendance.

Monitoring progress and proactively identifying delays, access issues and project risks.

Attending sites to monitor progress, quality and compliance.

Maintaining project programmes, trackers and action logs.

Taking increasing responsibility for individual projects and workstreams as experience develops.

Liaising with clients, consultants, residents, operatives and subcontractors.

Coordinating resident appointments and access for surveys and remedial works.

Managing access issues, refusals and resident concerns professionally.

Assisting with quotations, costings, variations and subcontractor pricing.

Supporting valuations and invoicing through accurate records of completed works.

Maintaining project documentation, QA records, snagging information and handover packs.

Updating client portals and internal project management systems.

Tracking works from initial instruction through to completion and certification.

    Passive Fire / FRA

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop strong technical knowledge within passive fire protection, including:

    * Fire stopping and compartmentation.

    * Fire doors and associated components.

    * FRA actions, surveys and remedial recommendations.

    * Penetrations involving pipework and cables.

    * Fire-rated sealants, compounds, collars and boards.

    * Fire door gaps, seals, hinges, closers, glazing and ironmongery.

    * Approved specifications and manufacturer requirements.

    * Identifying and escalating potentially non-compliant installations.

    * Maintaining photographic evidence and audit trails throughout the works.

    Ideally, you will have:

    * Previous experience within construction, property maintenance, social housing or a related project environment.

    * Some experience or knowledge of passive fire protection, fire stopping, fire doors or FRA remedial works.

    * Strong organisational and coordination skills.

    * Excellent communication skills with the confidence to deal with clients, residents, subcontractors and site teams.

    * Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

    * The ability to maintain accurate project records and documentation.

    * A willingness to attend sites and develop your technical and project management expertise.

    * A full UK driving licence.

    Why Consider the Role?

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who already has construction or property experience and wants to move further into project management and passive fire compliance.

You will work alongside experienced Project and Contracts Managers, gaining exposure to commercial management, client management, programming, compliance and the technical aspects of passive fire protection, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects as your experience develops.

If you have experience in construction, social housing, property maintenance or passive fire and are looking for your next career move, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist contractor.
