How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Dalkia UK

    At Dalkia, we're driven by a shared purpose: tackling climate change and building a better, more sustainable future. We bring together talented people who share knowledge, challenge each other and grow together.

    Backed by EDF, Britain's biggest generator of low carbon electricity, we're a people-first culture. With 5,000+ employees and £600m+ turnover, we combine the strength of a major group with a great culture, innovative mindset and inclusive values making Dalkia a great place to work and grow your career.

    Dalkia Engineering is a leading M&E installation and engineering business delivering high-quality building services and engineering solutions across healthcare, defence, government, aviation, industrial and infrastructure sectors. As part of our exciting growth plans, we are expanding our presence across the North West region and are seeking an ambitious and commercially astute Commercial Manager to play a pivotal leadership role in this journey.

    This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the Regional Director, helping shape and grow a new regional operation while driving commercial performance across a portfolio of complex and high-value projects.

    What you'll be doing;

    As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial strategy, governance and performance of the North West region. You will lead all commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while protecting margins, managing risk and supporting sustainable growth.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Leading the commercial function across multiple projects and programmes.

    Developing and implementing regional commercial strategies aligned to business objectives.

    Managing revenue, margin, cash flow and cost control performance.

    Reviewing project budgets, forecasts, CVRs and final accounts.

    Managing variations, claims and contractual entitlements.

    Supporting major tenders and negotiated opportunities.

    Reviewing contract terms and risk profiles.

    Leading dispute resolution and commercial negotiations.

    Building and developing a high-performing commercial team.

    Working closely with operational leaders, clients and supply chain partners to drive successful project outcomes.

    What you'll bring;

    Are you an experienced commercial leader with a proven track record within the M&E sector?

    You'll bring:

    Significant experience in a senior commercial leadership role within an M&E installation organisation.

    Experience managing commercial performance within a region generating approximately £30m turnover.

    Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.

    Degree qualification (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.

    Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

    The ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required.

    Strong leadership skills with experience developing and managing commercial teams.

    If you're a commercially driven leader looking for the next challenge in your career and want to play a key role in expanding a successful engineering business across the North, we'd love to hear from you.
