How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Working within Aureos' Rail Business Unit, and forming a part of theCommercialteam, the Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercialreportingand maximising profit.

    Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you willassistthe commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensurethe profitability, cash management, costcontrolandaccuratereporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to:
    Capablysubmitapplications and control credit processes
    Understanding of income forecast and pricing of variations
    Understanding of the change control system
    Understanding of project risk
    Production of cost value reconciliation (CVRs) with support
    Produce cost to complete with support
    Understanding the production of forecasting data
    Understanding the costing process
    Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation.
    Assistingwith weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
    Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements.
    Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.
    Attend project progress meetings.
    Assistingwith the preparation of monthly financial performance reports.
    Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business.Secondary tasks and duties

    Targets for the Quantity Surveyor will be set and reviewed on a 6 monthly basis, aligned with the responsibilities and behaviours listed within this job description. The section below will be used to record key targets, which will align with Performance Reviews undertaken via the current Group process. The Trainee Quantity Surveyor is expected to:
    Independently contribute to prompt payment of sub-contracts and maintenance of sub-contract liabilities and other trackers
    Complete and well organised records
    Contribute to thetimelyproduction of Cost and value reconciliations.
