How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Contribute to the successful delivery of project design requirements, working closely with project management teams to meet key milestones, budgets and programmes.
Collaborate with clients, operational teams, project teams and other engineering disciplines.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.
Work independently with minimal technical guidance, using professional judgement to resolve complex engineering problems.
Provide technical support for bids and proposals.
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to develop integrated design solutions.
Ensure design quality through effective checking and review of your own work and that of others.
Support the continued development of Civil Water engineering capabilities within the wider team.

What Our Client is Looking For:

Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Preferably Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
Proven experience coordinating or managing Civil Water engineering design teams within a consultancy environment.
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary design environment.
Proven experience collaborating with contractors and delivering projects across the full project lifecycle.
Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in risk assessment, quality control and design management.
Experience collaborating with key disciplines involved in water infrastructure design and delivery, including MEICA, structures and geotechnics.
Practical knowledge of current design codes, standards and industry best practice.
Knowledge of CDM regulations, Eurocodes, regulatory requirements, water utility standards and NEC.
Experience working within the Water market is essential.
Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders.
A proactive and highly motivated approach, with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to successful project delivery.

    What Our Client Offers:

Opportunity to work on major UK water infrastructure programmes.
Exposure to complex and technically challenging projects.
The opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
Hybrid working, with typically 3 days per week based in an office or on site.

A collaborative environment where technical knowledge and experience are valued.

    Eligibility:

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be available to work on a contract basis inside IR35.

    Opportunity for Growth:

This role offers the opportunity to work on significant water infrastructure programmes, broaden your experience across complex engineering projects and work alongside experienced professionals across multiple technical disciplines.

It is particularly suited to an experienced Civil Water Engineer looking to take on a technically challenging contract and further develop their experience within the UK water sector.
