How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 basic, £50,000 to £60,000 realistic first year OTE

Work hard, sell well and earn what you are worth

Working Futures is expanding its sales team and is looking for commercially driven Business Development Executives who want their earnings to reflect the results they deliver.

With a £27,000 to £30,000 basic salary and uncapped commission paid monthly, realistic first year earnings are £50,000 to £60,000, with no ceiling for consistently strong performers.

You will not inherit an established client portfolio. This is a genuine new business role where you will create opportunities, build your own pipeline and win clients from the ground up. In return, you will have researched target accounts, market intelligence, strong sales tools, training and the autonomy to take real ownership of your results and earnings.

Working Futures connects senior HR and People leaders, including Chief People Officers, CHROs and HR Directors, through events, research and professional communities. You will generate revenue through sponsorship, commercial partnerships and opportunities built around this senior professional audience.

    What you can earn

£27,000 to £30,000 basic salary, depending on experience
Realistic first year earnings of £50,000 to £60,000
    Uncapped commission, paid monthly
Increasing earning potential as your pipeline and client portfolio grow
No commission ceiling for high performers
    What is on offer

Currently fully remote, with an expected move to hybrid working of around two days per week in the London office
Greater flexibility for proven independent performers
Intensive initial training and ongoing commercial support
Researched target accounts and valuable market intelligence
Pipedrive, Ringover and Lusha to support your sales activity
Autonomy over your diary, pipeline and approach
Genuine progression as the sales team grows
Monday to Friday working with no weekends
    The role

You will manage the full new business process, from identifying prospects to closing deals and developing the accounts you win.

    You will:

Build and manage a new business pipeline from the ground up
    Identify and approach new prospects
Generate opportunities by telephone, email, video and professional networks
Hold consultative conversations with senior decision makers
Sell sponsorship, event, partnership and audience opportunities
Engage senior HR leaders with events, research and membership services
Present proposals, negotiate terms and close business
Manage and grow the clients you win
Continue generating new business alongside account management
Take ownership of your targets, results and earnings
    About you

You will have at least two years of new business sales or business development experience.

You must be confident prospecting, comfortable generating business from scratch and able to demonstrate that you can build and convert a pipeline.

Experience in sponsorship, events, media, recruitment, SaaS, advertising or B2B services would be useful. However, proven sales ability, resilience and commercial drive are more important.

You will need the discipline to work independently, the confidence to speak with senior contacts and the determination to keep going when the sale is challenging.

    Separate freelance opportunity

Working Futures is also open to hearing from highly experienced sales professionals interested in a self employed, commission only arrangement with enhanced uncapped earning potential. This is separate from the employed Business Development Executive position advertised above.

    Recruitment process

Applications will be reviewed by our recruitment partner, Ad Talent, before suitable candidates are introduced to Working Futures.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an initial video conversation to discuss their sales experience, results, working preferences and earning expectations. Successful candidates will then progress to an interview with Working Futures.

    Apply now

If you are confident winning new business, motivated by uncapped earning potential and ready to build a client portfolio of your own, apply with your CV now.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available, and applications from recruitment agencies cannot be accepted
