How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Mental Health Support Worker - Fixed Term

    £24,871 - £25,371 per annum

    Nottingham

    Hours: 37

At NCHA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live independently, maintain their wellbeing and achieve their goals.

We're looking for a caring and motivated Mental Health Support Worker to join our Mental Health Reablement Support Service in Nottingham on a 12-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. You'll support people experiencing mental health challenges to build confidence, develop resilience and take positive steps towards greater independence.

    Role overview

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll work directly with individuals in the community, providing practical and emotional support through a time-limited reablement programme. Using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, you'll empower people to make informed choices, overcome barriers and improve their quality of life.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing your experience within mental health services.

    Key responsibilities

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will:

    * Support individuals with mental health needs to live as independently as possible within their communities.

    * Deliver a reablement-focused programme of support, helping people achieve agreed goals and outcomes.

    * Develop and review person-centred support plans and risk assessments.

    * Support people with budgeting, daily living skills, physical and mental wellbeing, and accessing meaningful activities and routines.

    * Assist individuals to access housing, benefits, healthcare and other relevant services.

    * Work collaboratively with mental health professionals, support networks and partner agencies.

    * Encourage service users to make informed choices and build confidence in managing their own wellbeing.

    * Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

For a more detailed overview of the role, please take a look at the attached role profile.

    Working pattern

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, covering maternity leave.

The role is worked Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm, providing support to individuals across Nottingham and the surrounding community.

Please note that this role involves regular travel across Nottingham using public transport, to attend support sessions, carry out needs assessments and meet with individuals in community settings.

    Ideal candidate

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and passionate about supporting people to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

You may already have experience in a support role, or you may have transferable skills gained through other professional, voluntary or personal experiences. Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to helping people live independently and achieve positive outcomes.

    You'll also have:

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * The ability to build positive and professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

    * Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks effectively.

    * A good standard of IT competency and confidence using a range of digital systems and programmes to record information, manage caseloads and support service delivery.

    * A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.

    * The resilience to support people through challenging situations.

    * A commitment to promoting dignity, inclusion and individual choice.

    * The ability and willingness to travel regularly across Nottingham using public transport to support individuals, attend appointments and complete needs assessments.

    Why join us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that helps people regain confidence, improve their wellbeing and build more independent lives.

You'll join a supportive team that values compassion, respect and person-centred support, where every day brings the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to someone's future.
