How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Assistant Merchandiser | Beauty & Cosmetics | Manchester

We're looking for a commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to join a growing beauty business in Greater Manchester. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working with numbers, spotting trends and turning data into practical decisions.

You'll work across a broad product portfolio, supporting the wider merchandising function and gaining exposure to everything from range planning and forecasting through to stock management and trading. It's a fast-moving environment where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact and develop your career within a growing consumer brand.

    Key Responsibilities:

Analyse weekly sales, stock and product performance, highlighting key trends, risks and opportunities.

Support the wider merchandising team with seasonal planning, range reviews and new product launches.

Maintain accurate forecasts and update plans in line with current trading, demand and commercial activity.

Monitor stock levels and availability, identifying potential overstock, shortages and replenishment requirements.

Assist with promotional activity, analysing performance and making recommendations around future activity.

Prepare regular trading reports and provide clear commentary to support commercial decision-making.

Work closely with internal teams including Buying, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Ecommerce to keep plans aligned.

Support wider merchandising projects, helping to improve processes, reporting and overall stock efficiency.

    About You:

Previous experience within merchandising, planning, retail analytics or a similar commercial environment.

Strong numerical ability with confidence working with data, identifying trends and drawing meaningful conclusions.

Good Excel skills and comfortable working with spreadsheets, reports and large volumes of information.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Commercially aware, proactive and keen to understand how decisions impact sales, profitability and the customer.

A confident team player who communicates well and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
