How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Who We Are
In-Comm Training & Business Services is the West Midlands' leading employer-led training provider. With over four decades of skills experience and state-of-the-art academies in Aldridge and Telford, we deliver outstanding apprenticeship and technical training programmes across engineering and manufacturing. We are a values-driven, inclusive organisation that puts people — learners, employers, and colleagues alike — at the heart of everything we do.
Turn Your CNC Expertise Into Something That Lasts
Are you a skilled CNC programmer with a passion for developing others? At In-Comm, we are looking for a technically confident and enthusiastic CNC Programmer / Tutor Assessor to join our Aldridge Academy team. In this dual role, you will combine your hands-on machining expertise with teaching, coaching, and assessment — delivering high-quality training in CNC programming and machining (including milling and turning) to learners on apprenticeship and vocational programmes. Whether you are already in education or an experienced operator ready to make an exciting career transition, this is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to shape the engineers of tomorrow.
    What We're Looking For
    *
A recognised engineering or manufacturing qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
    *
GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
    *
Proven industry experience in CNC machining, programming, and setting
    *
Practical experience of setting up and operating CNC machinery
    *
Strong knowledge of CNC controls, programming, and machining processes, including Fanuc and Siemens control systems
    *
The ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions, adapting delivery to suit a range of learning styles and abilities
    *
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage learners at all levels
    *
Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
    *
A teaching qualification (e.g. AET) or assessing qualification (e.g. CAVA) is desirable — training towards these is available and fully funded for the right candidate
    *
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software or apprenticeship standards would be a welcome advantage
    Our Culture & Benefits
Our values — Accountable, Integrity, Driven, Collaborative, Dynamic, and Diverse & Inclusive — define how we work and who we are. At In-Comm, you will find a team that genuinely invests in its people and a culture that celebrates ambition. We offer:
    *
Fully funded CPD, including teaching and assessor qualifications where not already held
    *
Pension contributions and a health and wellbeing programme
    *
Flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance
    *
Access to state-of-the-art workshop facilities and industry-standard equipment
    *
A collaborative and inclusive team environment with genuine opportunities for career development
    *
The opportunity to make a lasting difference to learners' skills, confidence, and careers
    Ready to Apply?
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. If you do not meet every requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply — your potential and perspective matter to us. Please submit your CV and a short covering letter to our recruitment team. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged.
In-Comm Training is an equal opportunities employer.
    Safeguarding & Safer Recruitment
In-Comm Training & Business Services is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners, including children and vulnerable adults. All appointments are subject to our Safer Recruitment process, which includes verification of identity, qualifications, and employment history; a minimum of two satisfactory references; and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Shortlisted candidates may also be required to complete a self-declaration in line with our safeguarding policy. We expect all staff to share our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, and to adhere to our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy at all times. Any offer of employment is conditional upon the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks
