How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Westminster from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished Teaching Assistant ready for greater responsibility. You'll work across the school, combining classroom support, targeted interventions and whole-class cover, making this a varied role with plenty of opportunity to make an impact.
The school is looking for someone with strong primary curriculum knowledge who can step confidently into a classroom, establish expectations quickly and keep pupils engaged in learning.

Maintain clear routines and positive behaviour expectations when leading classes

Support pupils with additional learning needs where required
Work closely with teachers and senior leaders across the schoolWhat We're Looking For

Previous experience as an HLTA or highly experienced Teaching Assistant
HLTA Level 4 qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong relevant experience
Whole-class teaching or PPA cover experience is highly desirable
Secure knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Confident, organised and able to take initiative
Previous UK primary school experienceWhy Long Term Futures?
We specialise in long-term and permanent education recruitment, helping experienced support staff find stable roles where they can become part of the school community. You'll receive weekly pay, access to free CPD and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
