How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Purpose

The job sits within the UK Logistics team (Petcare sector) in a cross-segment capacity. The role is responsible for managing imports into the UK Market, completing essential administration for approx 1,500 containers per month, working directly with customs agents to ensure smooth logistics clearance, and driving continuous improvement through digital innovation. The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver, comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and passionate about leveraging technology and analytical skills to enhance operational efficiency.

    Responsibilities

Import / Export Logistics & Shipment Coordination:

    * Oversee shipping container movements originating from the EU and the Rest of the World (~1,500 containers monthly).

    * Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve delays and discrepancies.

    * Monitor shipment milestones and proactively address potential disruptions.

    * Ensure necessary certification and documentation is raised and sent to appropriate stakeholders to guarantee the efficient flow of goods to Northern Ireland (NI) customers post-Brexit.

    Customs Compliance & Agent Management:

    * Perform document checks and verification within SAP and ATLAS (training provided if lacking prior ATLAS experience).

    * Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations as set out by the Trade Compliance team.

    * Hold customs agents and third-party logistics (3PL) providers accountable for service levels and documentation accuracy.

    * Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory inspections.

    * Ensure commodity code compliance through SAP and agent declarations, monitoring customs agent performance against agreed KPIs on a periodic basis.

    Operational Controls, Analysis & Reporting:

    * Utilize critical thinking to review, analyze, and maintain audit control reports to ensure data integrity.

    * Conduct regular reconciliations and data analysis to identify operational trends or discrepancies.

    * Support internal and external audits by maintaining robust documentation and compliance logs.

    * Identify and escalate risks, anomalies, or bottlenecks in cross-border operations.

    Continuous Improvement & Digital Innovation:

    * Lead and support Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to streamline cross-border processes and reduce lead times.

    * Leverage digital tools, platforms, and advanced Excel to automate and improve operational workflows.

    * Problem Solving & Adaptability:

    * Tackle complex logistics challenges with a structured, analytical approach—connecting the dots across various operational data points.

    * Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and limited information.

    * Demonstrate resilience, curiosity, and creativity in resolving operational issues under pressure
