How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 DOE + OTE Opportunities
Benefits: Company Van + Fuel Card + Paid Travel Time + 33 Days Holiday + Training

Are you an experienced Testing & Inspecting Electrician looking for a role with variety, autonomy and excellent earning potential?

We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Testing & Inspection Engineer / Electrician to join a leading electrical compliance specialist. This is a genuinely field-based position, covering multiple regions and client sites, with a strong focus on EICRs, electrical inspection and testing, fault finding and compliance.

Please note: this is a high-travel role. You will typically be on the road Monday to Thursday, visiting different client premises each day. If you enjoy travelling, working independently and having no two days the same, this could be an excellent opportunity.

    The Role
As a Testing & Inspecting Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection, testing and remedial works across a varied commercial and residential portfolio.
You could be visiting convenience stores, funeral offices, vacant commercial properties, residential flats and other client premises throughout your regional patch.

A typical week will involve travelling to a major client site each day, completing detailed electrical testing and inspection, identifying defects and carrying out remedial works where required.
Friday will generally be a office / home-based reporting day, allowing you to complete and upload your inspection reports, certificates and documentation.

    Key Responsibilities

Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial and residential properties.
Complete electrical inspection and testing in accordance with BS7671 and current electrical regulations.
Identify electrical defects, hazards and areas of non-compliance.
Carry out remedial electrical works where required.
Undertake thermal imaging of distribution boards to identify potential faults and overheating.
Produce accurate electrical testing certificates and detailed inspection reports.
Upload reports and certificates using company tablets/laptops and digital reporting systems.
Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, tenants and other stakeholders.
Travel to multiple client sites across the region.
Maintain company equipment, vehicle and testing equipment to a high standard.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures. What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced electrician who has a strong background in electrical testing and inspection and is comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
    Essential Requirements

Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations or equivalent.
    18th Edition BS7671 qualification.
City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified electrician.
Strong experience carrying out EICRs and electrical inspection/testing.
Good understanding of BS7671 and Guidance Note 3.
Experience identifying electrical faults and carrying out remedial works.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
Comfortable travelling extensively throughout a regional patch.
Confident using tablets, laptops and digital reporting systems.
Professional approach when dealing with customers and clients. What's On Offer?

£43,000 - £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
    OTE opportunities.
    Company van.
    Fuel card.
Paid travel time after the first and last 30 minutes of the working day.
33 days' holiday, including bank holidays.
    40-hour working week.
    Monday to Thursday predominantly field-based.
Friday typically office/ home-based for reporting and administration.
Fully funded specialist thermal imaging training.
    Company tablet/laptop.
    High-spec electrical testing equipment.
    Company PPE.
    Ongoing technical training and development.
    Workplace pension. Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Testing & Inspecting Electrician who wants to move away from repetitive single-site work and into a varied field-based position.
You will have the autonomy to manage your own day, work across a diverse range of properties and develop your technical skillset through additional training.
If you are an experienced Electrician, Electrical Tester, Testing & Inspection Engineer or EICR Engineer who enjoys being out on the road and is looking for a long-term permanent opportunity, we want to hear from you.
