How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

·Support successful project handovers by providing the project team with relevant pre-award and tender information.
·Produce completed tender take-offs and summaries of material and labour costs for successful bids.
·Work alongside project teams to review tender accuracy against actual project costs and identify opportunities to improve future estimates.
    Experience Required
The successful candidate will ideally have strong experience across:
    ·Mechanical tendering and estimating.
·Large-diameter mechanical pipework, including carbon steel and stainless steel.
·Producing material take-offs from GA drawings.
    ·Reading and interpreting P&ID drawings.
    ·Mechanical equipment and associated systems.
    ·Fabrication and installation works.
    ·Water industry projects.
    ·Pipework coatings and associated specifications.
    ·Supplier and subcontractor quotation analysis.
    ·Mechanical project costing and estimating.
    About You
We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineering professional who is commercially aware, technically capable and comfortable taking ownership of the tendering process.
    You will ideally have:
·5+ years' relevant mechanical engineering experience.
·Previous experience within a tendering, estimating or proposals environment.
·A strong understanding of mechanical pipework, fabrication and installation.
·The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    ·Strong numerical and commercial skills.
    ·Excellent attention to detail.
·Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
·The ability to manage multiple tenders and work effectively to deadlines.
