How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on, field-based role installing, servicing and fault-finding vehicle telematics, vehicle CCTV, dash cameras, blind spot detection and other vehicle safety systems across HGVs, LCVs, vans and specialist commercial vehicles.

If you have experience as an Auto Electrician, Automotive Electrician, Vehicle Technician, Mobile Engineer, Telematics Engineer or Vehicle Installation Engineer, and you're confident working with 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems, we'd like to hear from you.

    Company Information:

Our customers include the AA, National Highways, RAC, TfL and Scottish Power, alongside more than 200 other fleet operators.
Following recent investment from Pembroke VCT, we're entering an exciting period of growth as we develop from a hardware-focused business into a SaaS-first, product-led technology company, built around our flagship AI-enhanced video telematics platform, VideMatics.
For our engineering team, that means exposure to new technology, new products and genuine opportunities to develop your career.
    Role:

As a Mobile Auto Electrician / Vehicle Telematics Installation Engineer, you'll travel to customer sites across Leicestershire and surrounding areas to:
Install and commission vehicle CCTV, dash cameras and video telematics systems
Install vehicle tracking and fleet telematics equipment

Work on 12V and 24V automotive electrical systems
Diagnose electrical and installation faults and carry out repairs
Service and maintain vehicle safety and telematics equipment
Work across a range of HGVs, LCVs, vans, buses, coaches and specialist vehicles
Attend customer sites and provide a professional, helpful service
Complete installation and service work accurately and efficiently
Support the Development Team with testing and rollout of new vehicle technologies
Work independently while being supported by our wider engineering and technical teams
No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the latest connected vehicle, AI, camera and fleet safety technology in the market.
    What we're looking for:

    Essential:

Previous hands-on experience working with HGVs, LCVs, vans or other commercial vehicles
Good understanding of 12V and 24V automotive electrical systems
Proven electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability
Comfortable working independently in a mobile/field-based role
    Good organisation and time-management skills
    Full UK driving licence
Good communication skills when dealing with customers and colleagues
    Desirable:

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:

    Vehicle telematics

    CANbus or vehicle communication systems
    Automotive electrical accessories
    ADAS or driver assistance technology
An NVQ, City & Guilds or other auto electrical qualification is desirable, but equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
    What you'll get:

Competitive salary with progression and bonus opportunities
Paid overtime where required and available
    Door-to-door pay
    Company vehicle
    Fuel card

Training and exposure to AI, video telematics and new vehicle technology
Opportunity to become involved in product testing and R&D
Career development towards managing subcontractor engineering teams
