How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Fitter - Neu Connect
    Location: Neu Connect, ME3 0BY
    Contract: Temporary
    Positions: 1
    Hours: 50 hours per week
    Duration: 14/09/2026 - 21/12/2026
    Shift Pattern: 10 hours per day, Monday-Friday
    IR35: Outside IR35
    Pay: £33.12-£37.65 per hour LTD / Umbrella

    The Role:
    We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the site team at the Neu Connect project.
    The successful candidate will assist with mechanical installation activities and work as part of a site team, reporting to the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.
    You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical installation activities safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while following all site procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out mechanical installation activities as directed by the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.
    Work in accordance with site QEHS procedures and site rules.
    Complete allocated task cards within the required timescales.
    Work to the standards and timescales set by the Work Party Leader.
    Identify and highlight any potential delays or issues in advance.
    Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
    Assist with project documentation where required.
    Work effectively both as part of a team and independently when required.
    Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the project.
    Carry out other duties within your competence as directed by the Site Supervisor.Requirements:

    Apprentice trained, with City & Guilds or minimum NVQ Level 3 in an appropriate discipline, plus at least 1 year's relevant experience.
    Alternatively, industry-recognised training with a minimum of 2 years' experience working as part of a team on an Electricity Supply Industry construction site or similar environment.
    Experience within power generation, oil & gas, utilities or general construction environments is beneficial.
    Previous experience working within a substation or electrical infrastructure environment.
    Good understanding of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
    Able to work effectively within a team and independently when required.Required Qualifications:

    CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.
    NG Person Ticket.
    Authorised Welder ticket required for this project.Personal Attributes:

    Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    Proactive approach to site work and problem solving.
    Strong team-working ability.
    Good relationship-building skills with site management and fellow workers.
    Positive approach to resolving issues and conflicts.
    Strong commitment to Health & Safety and quality.Pay Rates:
    LTD / Umbrella
    First 37 hours: £33.12 per hour
    After 37 hours / first 4 hours Saturday: £34.87 per hour
    After 4 hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holiday: £37.65 per hour

    Additional Information:

    Weekly timesheets.
    50 hours per week.
    10-hour working days.
    1 position available.
    Outside IR35 for LTD.
    Site: Neu Connect, ME3 0BY.
