Head of People

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of People based near Milton Keynes to join one of our clients on a permanent full-time basis. This is a 100% office-based role and due to the location own transport is required.
Summary of the Head of People role
Salary: Competitive
Location: Milton Keynes
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Responsibilities of the Head of People
* Lead and support a small HR team.
* Work directly with key leaders and heads of business.
* Attend quarterly board meetings.
* Update and advise senior management and department heads on employment legislation, restructuring and training.
* Develop HR policies and procedures, keeping up to date with legislative changes.
* Manage employee benefits and the pension scheme.
* Develop training budgets and support managers with PDP's.
* Manage the recruitment process including, writing job specifications, liaising with agencies & third parties, writing employment contracts and discipline and grievances.
* Responsible for managing and upholding GDPR policies and procedures including the destruction of confidential waste.
Requirements for a successful Head of People
* CIPD Level 7 qualified.
* Substantial HR Management experience at a senior level and within the commercial sector and working at board level.
* Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a small HR team.
* Experience working with stakeholders and trustees.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* A DBS check will be required for this role.
* Full driving licence due to location.
